The green and smart construction industry is a forward-looking approach that combines ecological, economic and social aspects. The aim is to create buildings and materials that are not only resource-saving and energy-efficient, but also improve people's living space. The focus lies on the use of renewable energies, the implementation of smart building technologies and the promotion of sustainable materials. In addition, the integration of green open spaces and the consideration of regional building culture play a decisive role. Carinthia is thus setting an example for environmentally conscious and sustainable construction.

The Timber Innovation Network Alpe Adria (TINAA) promotes and connects forestry, industry, commerce, crafts, education and research around the material wood. At TINAA, you bring together a diverse range of stakeholders, provide impulses for further development, create knowledge for the future, and thereby open up new opportunities for the wood industry and beyond.

Electronic and Software Based Systems (ESBS) are integral parts of modern technologies that are used in a wide range of applications, from automation to communication to intelligent transport systems. These systems combine hardware and software to efficiently handle complex tasks and develop innovative solutions. In Carinthia, there are renowned companies and research institutions, which specialise in this field.

The Silicon Alps Cluster connects stakeholders from industry, research and science to strengthen the regional electronics industry. The cluster sees itself as a long-term strategic alliance, and as an instrument for cooperative and business-oriented regional development.

The rapid development of robots and drones has revolutionised numerous sectors in recent years, from industry and agriculture to logistics and emergency services. Robots are taking on increasingly complex tasks in production, while drones are being used in a variety of ways, for example for monitoring, inspection and delivery. Carinthia is working intensively on the integration and development of these technologies. Regional research institutes and companies are working closely together to fully exploit the potential of these technologies and establish Carinthia as a pioneer in this field.

The AI Workshop provides insights and opportunities regarding potential partners and tools related to artificial intelligence topics in the Carinthia region. In addition to general information and content, two exciting best practice examples will also be presented. Along with the AI & Innovation Focus Group of the Software Internet Cluster, which is hosting this workshop, other topic-related partners from the software industry and the education sector will also participate and provide valuable input.

The Software Internet Cluster (SIC) connects leading experts from the fields of software and the Internet of Things. The SIC has set itself the task of promoting central tech issues in the region. Members of the SIC have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge in various focus groups and benefit from the network's know how. The network offers unique opportunities for collaboration, which allows synergies to be exploited and resources to be shared. The diverse competencies of the members create valuable information that help to unlock market opportunities and promote both individual and collective success.

Social innovations are novel processes or products that offer more effective and equitable solutions to complex social problems, creating both social and environmental value for the collective. This workshop will explore the potential of social innovations for regions and companies, with recent research findings and best-practice examples illustrating the functioning and benefits of social innovation ecosystems. In this interactive workshop, you will have the opportunity to share your own experiences and actively contribute to shaping the region’s social innovation ecosystem.

The Social Innovation Lab Carinthia (SILC) is a project of the Institute for Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship (University of Klagenfurt) funded by the State of Carinthia. SILC identifies, supports, and connects innovators whose ideas contribute positively to addressing societal challenges. Its goal is to establish social innovations as an equivalent pillar alongside technological innovations.
